A Shop Mascot?

Of course, we will need one! My husband does not yet agree on this point. But I see her, greeting customers calmly, with a toothy canine smile. A sweet little toy poodle, so we don't have hair everywhere. (I shed enough!) She probably won't be as fancy as this one by designer Denise Feidler. But just as book smart!
Denise makes the most wonderful images out of repurposed book pages. Collections of different dogs, chairs, fashionable accessories and food! These make wonderful gifts, and you are sure to find something that speaks to you as her poodles did to me!
Love the clever use of a large font for the bow on this pair of shoes. A collection of her framed fashion pieces would make a teen fashionista's bedroom come to life.

Look how Denise masters the details of this tea pot in such a deceptively simple way. You can feel the bulge of the handle under your hand and imagine the water pouring out of the notched spout, can't you?
Her background in interior design is most evident in her chair series. A full gamut of styles from Louis to Eames! Perfect for any kind of Riveted home.
For now, you can find them on the artist's website, (she calls her business paste!)
Look for a selection on Riveted soon!

Vintage Chairs

Vintage chairs follow me home. Like orphaned puppies, I take them in. Sometimes in litters, but most often as lonely single adoptions. Old chairs evoke a past in an accessible way -- scuff marks and wear appear from everyday use. But like smile lines on a loved one's face, the "imperfections" just add character. Evidence of life well lived.  Chairs are not pretentious. Just put your tush on one! They are infinitely useful in all areas of the home, and if required can pull double duty as a table or bookcase. Riveted will bring you a variety of interesting chairs to bring life and patina to your home. Check the shop page frequently to see what is new in store!

The Riveted Look

So, you ask, what is Riveted?

Riveted is interesting. Creative. Textural. Modern and yet some pieces are vintage. Industrial AND natural.

As in this image, Riveted is a collection that creates a whole, more than the sum of its parts.

Look for aged surfaces that are easy to live with. Contemporary styling that is comfortable and warm. Tools to help you with a style all your own.  Casual pieces without pretension, and space for your personal treasures.

You will be Riveted.

Genesis

Staring at a blank piece of paper is never easy. Staring at an entirely blank blog is even harder. Where to start? How to set the course?  What is the best way to pour out my brain, my soul, my concept onto a digital blank slate?

As they say about elephants, one bite at a time...

This blog is to be my vision board, with breath. A living, growing dream brought to life. There has always been a boutique in my head. A collection of ideas and designs unique to my point of view and yet part of the times. Perhaps a place you would like to be too. I cannot at this point in my life give birth to this shop in a brick and mortar sort of way, but I can however, give it form in the virtual world.

I shall begin by trying to set the stage. Give you an idea of the looks contained within by snipping pages and products from the interweb in a bulletin board fashion. Whenever possible, I will provide a means for you to purchase these items, either through links to sources or directly through me. Eventually, I hope this will lead to a robust marketplace that will take a physical form.

I hope you will be Riveted with me on this journey.
